Marriage Proposal in Bologna: Zach and Jenny’s Story
Zach wrote to me some time in advance and told me that he was planning a marriage proposal for his girlfriend Jenny during their trip to Italy.
Bologna, a romantic atmosphere, a journey together — Zach knew this would be the perfect moment. He wanted that day to be special, well thought out, and truly unforgettable.
And of course, I was happy to be there with them at such an important moment ❤️
Because marriage proposals are always pure magic.
Preparing for the proposal: when every detail matters
Zach and I discussed everything in detail: the location, the timing, how the moment would unfold, and exactly how the proposal would happen.
I know how emotional (and stressful!) this can be.
That’s why my job is not only to take photos, but also to make sure that there is no panic, confusion, or unnecessary stress at the most important moment.
I visited the location in advance, took a test shot, and marked the exact spot where Zach should stand during the proposal — so the light, background, and composition would be perfect.
After that, I explained everything step by step:
where I would be, how I would photograph the moment, when I would move closer, and how everything would happen.
Later, Zach told me that this preparation helped him feel calm and confident — and that is always the most meaningful compliment for me!
The special moment: “yes”
On the day of the shoot, I arrived early and was already waiting for them at the location.
Everything was ready — all that was left was to catch the moment.
And then… Zach went down on one knee.
I started shooting right away, because moments like this last only a few seconds.
But inside those seconds, there is a whole lifetime.
Jenny was completely surprised.
She didn’t suspect anything at all.
In her eyes, there was everything: surprise, tears, happiness, emotion…
Real, honest emotions — the kind that make me love my work so much.
When Zach put the ring on her finger, they started hugging and kissing with such tenderness…
Honestly, I had tears in my eyes too.
But I kept shooting, because it’s exactly in moments like these that images are created — the ones you look back on for a lifetime 📸✨
A little silence — just for the two of them
After the proposal, I suggested they take a few minutes just for themselves.
I stepped aside and let them live that special feeling —
“we are engaged now.”
No camera close by, no one else around.
Of course, I continued shooting from a distance, so they wouldn’t even notice me.
After a while, they called me back themselves, and we continued with a calm, light, and very romantic photo session.
A relaxed photo session in Italy after the proposal
These sessions are always the warmest and most genuine.
When people are truly happy, when love is in the air, when smiles are real — everything flows naturally.
We walked, laughed, and enjoyed the moment.
Everything felt easy and spontaneous.
And now Zach and Jenny have photographs that will take them back to that day, again and again 💛
